Oversuck.com
In doing a little Christmas shopping online, I placed an order with Overstock.com. It was placed WAAAAAAAY back on December 14th, with what I thought was plenty of time to receive and wrap before heading home to Hawaii laden with presents.

Three of the four things I order arrive around the 22nd. The final item? Well, after waiting until January 9th, I complained severely to them and said "Where the heck is it?" Of course they tell me, "It could take anywhere from 2-15 business days to get to you."
I reply with, "Okay, so do you have an explanation as to why it's been eighteen?"
And of course it's a help desk script they read, which takes all the innovation of a barn rat to read. But I made them investigate the missing item. Then they say they "reshipped" the item on January 10th, and it'll arrive in 2-15 business days. I go track the package, and indeed it wasn't shipped on January 10th, instead they shipped it on January 12th. Still no package, but I suppose it's in their "2-15 business days" so we'll see if I even get it before leaving for Hawaii next Tuesday.
Needless to say, this was my first and last order with Overstock.com. Competition's far too heavy online shopping these days to put up with extraordinarily pathetic customer service.

See now I've had the opposite experience. We've ordered a few different things from them and had no issues. The items arrived in a timely manner. Maybe I just got luck?

I got a major runaround with them myself. Ordered something, there was a hassle with screwed up shipment tracking info, finally received later in damaged box, parts missing and wrong color, none of the right color left, went through the phone and email hassles repeatedly, only to be told I couldn't get a refund because I used Paypal, but I could get store credit...Need I continue? It goes on, but you get the picture. Anyway, long story short, there's a reason they call them, "The Big 0"!

One of my boxes came really damaged too. Luckily the contents weren't but it looked like it was drop kicked by Pele.
Sounds like Steve got way lucky!! :)
Btw, order still not in yet, heh.

You know how hectic things were with us during the holidays (family in the hospital, me sick, etc).
Needless to say I got no shopping done. At the last minute I found some great items (with great prices) on Neiman's. Now, when I say "last minute" I mean ordered on the 23rd to be delivered next day in Tulsa. One item arrived on the 24th - the rest were delivered early Christmas Day. Everything packed secure (one breakable item was even packed in 3 boxes - ohh, I heard it was exciting opening box after box). Neiman's even refunded the entire shipping charge since some items arrived on the 25th vs. the 24th.
