INXS Rockstar
Of course the topic on lots of folks' minds tonight will be ROCKSTAR! Tonight at I believe 9pm Central is the last show. Who will make it and who are you cheering on? The final three are Mig, Marty, and JD. Here's my take. GLAD THE GIRLS ARE GONE! None of them were right for INXS. Yeah yeah Jordis could sing... but not right for the band, which I'm glad at least the public was finally beginning to base their votes on what's right for INXS. And Susie...blech. She couldn't be gone fast enough. The chick's got a one octave range it seems, and that octave's tenor.
My vote's for Marty. He won my vote when he did The Killers' "Mr. Brightside" on acoustic guitar without accompaniment. Impressive. He's got rock star charisma, and a fantastic work ethic. I think he's a great fit for INXS. I also like Mig, he'd be another nice fit, but not as nice as Marty imho. JD needs to go flip burgers. He's got a crap attitude and it shows (although not as bad as it was in beginning/mid-season).

I thought i was the only one exicted about who will win. Though i want Mig to sing for INXS. I don't why know, he just seems to be a good fit, though Marty's "Trees" has been stuck in my head for weeks now.

I'm pulling for JD. On a personal level I thnk he's a douche, but I think the crowd likes him and he has a good voice. Two of the many things that are required to be a rock star. I also think INXS likes his "Pretty Vegas" song, not that there's anything wrong with "Trees", but wth that said if they get JD they get his song too.

Unfortunatly I think JD will win as well. I picked this show up at just before the halfway point and have been hooked. Even though I think INXS has a bit of an overblown opinion of themselves and thier actual drawing power.

Chuck's $0.02: I agree with Sirica - INXS can't stay as the band they were and still have drawing power. This whole thing is a gimmick to promote one more CD that they'll put out after it's over. Hopefully the music will be good. But in the vein of them being a viable money making band, Marty seems to know about the music business and the changing paradigm from album to singles.
Now, I must know Shari, why no comment on UF2? Could it be because neither fighter even touched the other for the first full minute last night? Sheesh, if I ever sparred like that at IMAT I'd have been doing pushups until I couldn't even lift a glass of water. And where were the kicks? They need a little muay thai course on chopping down the tree.

Its all good.. Tuff 2 has about one more week with me to deliver and then I will be done. Of course the promo promised the most brutal fight yet for next week.. but then when qualifying for said most brutal means the fighters throw more than 4 moves in one round you don't have much to top. So far the highlight has been the referee totally ignoring the elbows to the back of the head in the previous fight.

And did you notice Marty didn't look very upset even before they asked him to open for them? If I was Marty I would call up Dave and then call up the HOUSE band and do their thing. The house band was friggin AWESOME

Yeah, I cannot believe that JD won - especially after he choked on the INXS song. I don't know if he lost his voice or what, but he couldn't hit the high notes. And then his performance of their new song was lackluster at best. Oh well, I know of one less person who will consider purchasing their new CD.

What a mistake to not have gone with Marty. Oh well. Just means I'll be buying Marty's CD instead of INXS's.
Poor James on call -- poor JABA! I had my fun with JABA yesterday when I couldn't get a simple 3kb class to get picked up by Tomcat server. But alas, I digress.

Its been pretty obvious for awhile now. It was shakey a bit there in the middle but after he rebounded from his terrible performance all the clues from the band pretty much told the story. And then when Sax player boy said he could not get Pretty Vegas out of his head....dun dun dunnnnn hehehe. Okay moving on to the Ultimate Wuss post hehe
