The Ultimate Fighter 2

Their slogan this season is, "See How it Feels When it's Real!"
Yeah. Right. I'd do that if it actually had some FIGHTING in it! The first season was pretty cool. There were some wussies, but not like this season. What's the deal? These guys stand up facing each other and do nothing but dance around the ring like they were disco daddies on the roller rink circa 1970. Macho-macho-man! I wanna BE! A macho man!

Anyway, just thought I'd vent a little about my frustration with where the show's going. When are they going to start getting gritty and going for the jugular?

this next episode will pretty much be the watershed for me. Either something at least mildly interesting happens or I am done till the end. Heh so far the highlight has been the ref failing to warn a fighter for illegal blows to the back of the head. THis week's promo commerical promised the most brutal fight yet. Not hard to do when to qualify for most brutal you simply need to throw more than 4 moves in a single round.

Ahh George is gone... to bad so sad. I much prefer the fighters the likes of Randy Couture than George, Matt, etc.. guys who run thier mouth far to much. Randy tends to just let his skills talk for him. The Gentleman Fighter if you will. And Matt going bezerk about showboating this turning around and doing it??? sheesh give me a break. Just makes me want to see St Piere knock him out or submit him all the more.At least we got something of a fight tonight. To bad both those guys ran out of gas real quick.

Yeah, last night's fight was the best yet - at least they seemed to try hard. But what was up with Jorge? Mr. "I'm a BJJ black belt but have gotten really good at Muay Thai so now I prefer a standup fight"??? He sucked in plam - if he really had a decent training in MT he would have done much better there - and he didn't throw but a few kicks. Granted, I realize that things get crazy in the ring and your nerves can make it hard to focus, but when Jorge had Jason in the rear naked choke all he had to do was push his hips to the sky and then slip his left hand behind Jason's head to choke him out. It seemed like Jorge was good at getting Jason into compromising positions on the ground, but then couldn't finish them.

I guess Franklin's move to forfeight the challenge was a good coaching move, but it sucks from a fighter's perspective - which is why Jorge was so ticked off, which I have to give him credit for even though he lost the fight. Jason did a good job of coming back after the first round and sticking around and throwing knees.

Boy, for someone who's only sparred and never actually gotten in the ring, I sure know a lot, huh? heh heh

ok Britney "Spars" Chuck, remember who reads this blog when you make comments like "Jorge was good at getting Jason into compromising positions on the ground, but then couldn't finish them." - ;P (I'm not THAT innocent)

DOH! I totally looked at Chuck's comment innocently until you quoted that! :)

I'm just glad there was a real FIGHT last night... a kick attempt in the first 5 seconds? Wow!

Course what do I know, I was PLAYING WoW through the fight, heh.
