Scottsdale Art Walk

Had a nice little walk through Scottsdale's Old Town art district last night. On Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm, they have an "art walk" where the galleries stay open, and they have wine/cheese. It was nice weather for it, but the only downside is that probably 3/4ths of the galleries were closed! Arrgh! The 1/4th that were open made for a nice, leisurely stroll through the district, however. Ate at a pretty good Thai restaurant named Malle's right there in Old Town. I think we'll try it again some time in October when the weather's cooled down -- maybe more galleries will deem themselves worthy of staying open for us plebeians.

On tap this weekend is a little family get together on Saturday night. It should be fun, although I'm secretly wishing I could be at the DBacks v Astros game so I could see Roger Clemens pitch. Oh well. There's always WiFi and sneaking peeks at my cellphone for game alert updates.

Also discovered a website called LibraryThing. It's pretty slick, I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning to add a widget to tekchic.com that'll have my "Currently Reading" list, and a link to my library where you can see the books I've read this year, and the books I've got on my "to buy" list.
