Air Conditioned Bed? Heck Yeah!

This time of year around AZ, this would be pretty sweet:

Air Conditioned Bed

Sure, you could blow a cool million on a bed you'd never sleep on, but why not grab one that actually provides some relief (and won't run you $5k a month... forever) after a hard day in the blazing sun? Enter Kuchofuku, who certainly has the right idea with its air conditioned sleeper and clothing line. The makeshift bed, which only weighs 5.3-pounds, utilizes dual fans to pull air in and circulate it through the cushion beneath you. Of course, it'd be a modern tragedy to have to rise and leave such a pleasant scenario, but you can solve that dilemma as well care of the air conditioned shirt. The button-up garb touts an integrated fan that is purportedly powered via USB, which means that your armpits can now remain fresh regardless of how infrequent the AC kicks on at the office. A cooler night's sleep is but $399 away, while the new threads (seen after the jump) will run you a staggering $159 apiece.

I got to swim for about 10 minutes last night around 9:30pm. I floated on my back and gazed up at the almost-full moon and the stars, and the palm tree in my backyard. My own slice of heaven. And this time of year at 9:30pm, it was still over 103 degrees. Craaaaazy!

Moving

I hate moving. Love the house, but this has been an exhausting move. We've been moving boxes and junk every single night since we closed on the 19th (except last Friday when I actually got the night off). So the schedule is, work all day, meet at the condo, pack and move (multiple loads), then somewhere around 10pm-ish, make it to the house. Wash, rinse, repeat. Over, and over, and over, until the condo's dumpster starts looking very attractive rather than putting yet another box in the Aztek.

I think we're getting towards the end. Almost down to just the "big stuff" at which maybe we'll finally hire someone to move that part. Next time? Someone's packing and moving it all, baby, and it ain't gonna be me.

I did get to finally enjoy the pool briefly on Saturday and Sunday for a few minutes. Hopefully I'll get to do that every day once I don't have to go to the blasted condo after work every single night.

Pool

Here are some pics of the pool that I snapped last night:

Here's a closer shot of the tilework where the waterfall comes out:

I'll get some this weekend with the waterfall going -- it adds a relaxing sound to the house when you're inside, all you hear is the waterfall, it's great :)

Now all that's left is to load up the Aztek after work every night and take a full carload of boxes over there. I think we'll get the bulk of it done this weekend (I hope). First official night in the house will probably be this Friday night. I'm looking forward to the plantation shutters, which mean the sun won't be burning a hole in my eye sockets when it comes up over the foothills like it does every morning in the condo, heh heh.

It's Official!

We're now the owners of a gorgeous 3 bedroom house in Arizona! I snapped a few quick shots yesterday, but they don't really mean much until I can get the whole enchilada with some better photos this weekend as we move in.

But here's the entertainment center area (I know it's crooked, I was hurrying hehe):

Here's the new carpeting in the bedroom -- check out the awesome plantation shutters and the extra cool energy saving screens :)

I'll get a few shots of the front and the swimming pool in the back sometime this weekend when we get moved out there. We're moving in the Arizona heat, but at least I have a swimming pool to leap into between Aztek-loads! :)

New MMO?

Chuck sent me this earlier this week. Very very amusing. :)

Tile went in yesterday, grout and sealant goes in today, and the carpet goes in on Monday. Tuesday morning we will be signing the papers on a GORGEOUS house -- we're really excited to be moving somewhere with space (and a swimming pool).

Sometime in July we'll be having our "Barely Out of Boxes BBQ" for friends and family. Should be fun, and give me impetus to actually unpack this time. I stopped unpacking at our condo because there was only so much room to put things. Past that point, it was like, "So, I guess I'll just leave this stuff in boxes..."

I was on the 101 parking lot after lunch today (they call it a freeway, but it is more of a parking lot). It was 115 degrees on the blacktop. Steering wheels are HOT at that temperature! I got to work and it dropped to a downright balmy 110 degrees. Pretty soon it's "jump in the pool after work" time, I can't wait!

House!

We're excited to be closing on a gorgeous house this month. Glittering swimming pool, beautiful accents throughout the house, and the seller has been 1000x generous and helpful. I'll post some pics of the front of the house and the swimming pool some time when I'm not WoW-ing. We're looking forward to evenings on the patio after grilling some salmon and floating poolside. Then it's indoors to the huge entertainment center, wicked HDTV, and some Wii Sports :)

I'm going to the Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, CA this weekend. At least this show is a three day instead of a four day trade show. Here's what it's like standing 10 hours a day at a trade show:
  • Day 1: Wow! These Nike Shox are fantastic for standing all day, my feet feel great!
  • Day 2: I like these shoes but man my heels and calves are starting to feel 10 hours of standing.
  • Day 3: I'm going to die. Just chop my feet off at the ankle and let me walk around on the bloody stumps, it'd hurt less.
  • Day 4: I think I'm past it, it was horrible yesterday but now I'm resigned to sore feet.
I've also recently purchased a new domain and hosting for a new idea I have, but I'm not ready to announce it, I'm still finishing the layout and logo work, and creating the content. Don't worry, tekchic.com isn't going anywhere, I still need a place to vent!

Oh yeah, on a WoW note, we finally went back to playing the mains (Totemgirl and Dracson) and got them up to 70 a few weeks ago so we could flutter around on our flying mounts. It's a blast! These days we're playing a billion alts, including a pair of druids, one feral spec, one balance spec, and loving the damage output. Hunters are still overpowered. :) I took my 51 hunter to Alterac Valley last night and was ranking in the top half of the kills and almost no deaths. Please, Blizzard, don't nerf hunters, muahaha!
