Zoobound

This week's flown by. I guess having been really busy at work and then something going on every evening (whether it's an Ikea trip, shopping, or unpacking) tends to make the days go by faster.

There's talk of rain tomorrow, but this is Arizona. So we're still holding to our plans of hoppin the Phoenix Zoo on the bicycles tomorrow and having a great day.

Then maybe some jacuzzi time, and some downtime in World of Warcraft. We're finally back to playing WoW, it's been nearly a month since our last login. I've missed it, but I don't think I'll be playing as often as I used to. There's just far too many exciting things to do here in Arizona.

I got my work laptop to connect VPN-wise, and since our team works from home on Fridays, I'm all set, I can't wait! I'm escaping around lunch today so I can get home and work the afternoon from the house. After one more Ikea trip, that is. Dang, who thought I'd get so into setting up a condo?

Piestewa Peak

Last Sunday we hiked up Piestewa Peak in Phoenix. This city is wonderful -- there are miles and miles of hiking trails all over the place, and all easy access. Despite the crazy crowds to hike this peak, the view at the top was SO worth it.

It's a 1.2 mile hike to the top, for about 2.4 miles round trip. Doesn't seem bad until you start getting up there, and running out of breath. It's quite difficult if you haven't been working out much (guilty!). It actually SNOWED from about North Scottsdale all the way north in the state. Flagstaff got four FEET of snow. At the top of the peak, the snow capped mountains were deliciously beautiful.

I was so sore the next day, but ready to go and hike it all over again. I'm hoping we can hit this hike again in a few weeks.

Arizona Renaissance Festival

We did manage to get out and enjoy the Arizona Renaissance Festival on March 4th. This place was great! The festival was awesome, the food was fantastic, and the shows were a blast.

Check out Chuck in the picture above! There was this performer named Dextre, and he pulled Chuck out of the audience for a stunt. Little did we know he was going to juggle fire while standing on Chuck's shoulders -- whoa! I was impressed! All the other shows were really great as well, got some great pics of the arena and the jousting, and some of the falconry.

It was like Muskogee's Ren Faire, but about 3x the size. What fun!

Arizona Road Trip

Here are the pics from the road trip, driving from Oklahoma to Arizona for the move. (Click the pic below or the title above for more photos)

U-Haul broke down five miles into the trip, we ended up having to stay in hotels in Tulsa stranded for three days before they ended up hiring movers to move all our stuff from one truck to the other truck. That was SO not fun.

Got on the road by Wednesday night (Feb 22nd) and arrived in Phoenix on Thursday, February 23rd, pretty wiped out. Got the condo on Friday and started the grand unloading of the U-Haul. Started new job on Monday. So now you know why I haven't been blogging much, I'm already working my tail off! ;)

Chuck's Dinners

Finally I figured out a way to update my blog from work. I have internet at home in the evenings, but things have been so busy that I just haven't had much of a chance to "sit 'n surf."

I've uploaded everything that I've done in the past month or so to a new photojournal, and I'll be blogging furiously over the next few hours or so to do a catchup.

Here's the first of the photojournals. Silly but I like it. Chuck's dinners are so fabulous that they usually are photojournal-worthy. :)

So check these out -- I'll probably add to the "Chuck's Dinners" photojournal every now and then and post an update!

Still Alive

I promise a full update soon, complete with all kinds of news to catch evetone up.
In short, didn't make it to phoenix until last Friday. That's an adventure in itself! Job started already on Monday, but no login yet hence no internet access (yay banks). Internet access at night but I keep crashing by 10PM nightly, lol. Still blogging from the ol' Blackberry.

Update and announcement soon, I promise!
