Dog/Pony Land

My dog/pony went fab today. Sat a very inexperienced computer user at the console, had him go "do an evaluation". Without ANY instructions or prodding from me he was able to completely fill out a full FAA discrepancy evaluation with my workflow system and get a final report and submit to the approval queue. No bugs, no errors. YES!

The guys had some great ideas for enhancements, many of which I'm cramming to get done today, and then finish off the others tomorrow and Wednesday.

Snowy Saturday

Hey, what's this? Shari's actually updated her blog? Be still my beating heart! *laughs*

Sorry for the lack of updates... with everything that's been happening, life and work got in the way of all that free internet time I used to spend blogging, surfing the web, playing GS4/LLD/Fable/EQ2/Sims2, you know.

I've been working on an automated evaluation engine for Lufthansa...basically it gives them the ability to inspect parts of the thrust reverser, mark all discrepancies, and send it off to be approved, all without having to use a single piece of paper. Full tracking, searching, history, approval workflow process. I am the bomb. ;-) Just kidding. It's taken almost ALL of my free time, which has put a hindrance on some of the timeframes I've set for some other things. Oh well. Work hard, play hard(er). Pulled 70 some odd hours last week and I'm about to put in a few hours of code in now to make sure it's ready for the dog/pony Monday morning.

Anyone going to watch the Ortiz/Belfort UFC 51? One day I'll be ridiculously wealthy and just go buy some tickets and stay the weekend at Mandalay Bay and sit front row for the cool fights. But until then, guess I better go write some code.

I took some recent pics, did you know that WalMart Neighborhood Markets have HALF HOUR film developing? I got the pics on CD also, but haven't checked em out yet. I'll post em here when I get them uploaded. Laugh.

BTW, Brandon and Travis, you guys are looking awesome these days, keep up the great shows! Shannon & Kim, keep in touch, I miss ya both! Don't faint if I come swing by The Scene some evening ;-)

sub30

Snuck *into* church last night. Sub30 group from Guts, Wednesday 9pm. Must say that's the first time I've ever snuck IN to a church. Dad would get a good laugh outta that. The music was incredible. The energy was awesome. The message was relevant. What a cool service. I think you're supposed to be under 30 so I'm just a year over the cutoff *whistles innocently*, but the timing works out better to make the 9pm instead of the 7pm (6pm?)...whatever. You can watch the services over the internet also.

Goosebumps

I get total goosebumps up the back of my neck and down my arms when I plug in my Shure e2's and listen to Riverdance (The Broadway Soundtrack). It's rare music that can do that to me these days. *shivers*

Still here?

Yeah, I'm still here. Just, trying to think of things to blog about that don't have to do with me. I know people keep up with me from my blog, but I'm going through some things right now that aren't yet ready for prime-time. Just be patient, sit back, relax, and smile. Everything's going to be okay. And you'll all be debriefed at some point. But just.... not.... right now.

But here's a few lil things I'm planning... 1) Going to see Steven Curtis Chapman Feb. 11th at the Mabee Center. Hopefully that'll be a decent concert, I'm afraid seating's a little bad, didn't think it'd sell out so quickly. Oh well. 2) Checking out Myriad Botanical Gardens and the Omniplex in Oklahoma City on Saturday. 3) Also, blackjack's on its way to Cherokee Casino, and I think this weekend is the first weekend it starts. I may give it a few weekends, get some practice time in, and then get out there and try my hand for fun. 4) Picking up rock climbing too... going for a ropes intro course probably in a week or so. 5) Also moving so I will be within bicycling distance to work every day.

So what's new on my iPod you ask?
  • Big & Rich
  • Switchfoot
  • Ryan Cabrera
  • Yellowcard
  • Maroon 5
Stay cool (warm) and hang tight.
